Poppy Collection

This collection began on my walks from a local park to the studio in the summer . The park was filled with poppies - a meadow - created by local volunteers as a place for people to enjoy along with local animals. Their vivid red petals and resilience stayed with me.

As a British Turkish designer, the poppy’s symbolism to the Remembrance Day and personal memories of Gallipoli visits, a WWI site, shaped these works. I created these pieces that connect us to history, place and a hopeful future.
